If this drops off in the middle of a sentence, it's because there's a consiracy among the keyboard and other electronics in the house. I think I'm down to about 20% usage on this damn keyboard and I can't afford $10 for a new one until friday. bah.
I just had an awesome day off. Not busy, just lazy. I sat around and watched movies all day. Just because I'm itching to tell someone...I watched: Click, The Benchwarmers (both on Starz free preview, nice easy movies to watch while reading a book), Howard the Duck (one of my little known dirty secrets...I LOVE this movie!), and to redem myself from the frivolity of my earlier choices I saw both Shawshank Redemption and Thumbsucker this evening. Obviously Shawshank is a very awesome movie, how could it not be with Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins (I guess if it was about an alien duck...)? Thumbsucker was also a very good movie, nice coming of age tale.
Earlier this week I watched Code 46, which is what started the whole Tim Robbins thing this weekend, and fell in love with another movie. I can't believe it's something I would have passed up when it first came out. It actually took me a few days to really get over that initial feeling, idea, whatever, that you get after a really good movie. It's probably because it was a scifi chick flick, at least that's how I would catagorize it in my sleepy stooper, but I'd like to think it's a combination of many elements, the characters themselves and how the script leaves a lot unexplained, among other things that are harder to put into words. It couldn't have come at a better time, I was getting burned out because for about 2 nights I'd sat through some bad movies, hoping to find a gem among the few I'd chosen for the week.
I guess that's all for right now, I'm extremely tired and hoping that I hear something about my surgery on Monday.
Stay Gold.

Well, it's been a long day in my little corridor of the world. Let's start with the good stuff.
Last night I saw Disturbia (dir. D.J. Caruso, starring Shia LaBeouf), which was an amazingly good movie. I went in purposefully not expecting much, mostly because the people I waited in line with didn't have much to say about the movie, just that it was free and they vaguly remembered Shia LaBeouf from either Holes or if you're really old school Even Stevens. I was very suprised at how suspensful the movie actually is, because most PG-13 movies billed as a thriller or suspense, well, aren't. It can be inferred from the tagline what excatly the movie is about, so there is no mystery element, or the "I knew after the first 10 mintues of the movie." With that being said, I was on the edge of my seat at some points, and there was a TON of audience participation during some scenes, which always adds to the richness of a movie. This is definately a movie I would recommend.
While going between doctors appointments (I'll get to that in a few...), I've watched Turtles Can Fly and Catch A Fire today. Turtles Can Fly is about refugee children in Irag during the very begining of the Iraq/US war. I hate to say that this movie was in no way moving, but I really think there was a lot lost in translation. Catch A Fire was pretty good, but not at the top of my list either. Maybe I'm just not in the movie mood today?
I also just got finished watching Lost. I love that bloody show!! At least this week there were some answers!
On to the not so good stuff. I've been having some issues with my LapBand for the last few years and finally went back to the doctor last week. He decided to have me do two tests, Upper GI and EGD Scope. *fun* I got the upper GI done today, but couldn't do the EGD because they scheduled them wrong and the barium wouldn't allow them to see my esophagus. Turns out, the upper GI is the only one I needed anyway. I was called not long after I got home to go to the doc a few hours later. During the test, none of the liquid went through my LapBand, and my esophagus was dialated (in case you're wondering...that last thing is bad mo-jo). After talking with Doc and weighing my options I've decided to have yet another surgery (this will be my third...) to remove my current band and replace it with another one. He also said that if he gets in and there's any kind of issue, he won't put another one in and just remove the current one and go from there. That's where it stands right now, and I'm scared. I really don't like going to the doctor, much less surgery, but I need to get something done about this or I'll end up dead from suffication. So for the moment my band is completely empty and just hangin' out, literally.
Well, that's all I've got for now. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!!
